Breathwork usually refers to a type of Buddhist meditation in which one directs one's attention to one's breath. Sustained practice of breathwork is thought to result in spiritual and/or psychological benefits.
It can also refer to Holotropic Breathwork, a technique for attaining alternate states of consciousness developed by transpersonal psychologist Stanislav Grof.
